The Orion Companies (TOC) is pleased to welcome Matthew Barnes to the team focused on R&P and row crops based in Texas.
Matthew brings a broad range of experience across the agricultural industry to Orion, with a background spanning row crop chemistry, seed, range and pasture management, and livestock operations. His career includes roles with Monsanto (now Bayer), Dow AgroSciences, and Envu, where he served as a Range & Pasture Specialist. In addition to his professional experience, Matthew has extensive familiarity with wheat pasture, feedlot, and ranch operations, giving him a well-rounded perspective on production agriculture.
A graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Matthew has dedicated his career to the industry he’s passionate about. He and his wife, Kelli, along with their son, Myers, live in the Texas Panhandle where they operate a stocker calf operation and a ranch-to-table beef business. Outside of work, they enjoy good horses, dependable cow dogs, and traveling in their 1947 Stinson airplane.
“We’re excited to welcome Matthew to the Orion team. His extensive background in production agriculture, range and pasture management, and livestock operations brings a tremendous amount of real-world experience to our organization. Matthew’s passion for agriculture, strong industry knowledge, and commitment to the ranching lifestyle make him a great fit for our team and the customers we serve,” stated David Lanclos, Sales Director South & East for Orion Land & Ag.
