The Orion Companies (TOC) would like to welcome Mike Sage to the team as the company’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective March 10, 2025. In this role, Mike will spearhead technology initiatives, driving innovation and expanding our technological capabilities to better serve our customers and meet their evolving needs. Mike’s responsibilities include all TOC technology including VMOptiX and customer-facing solutions. Our technological initiatives, driving innovation and expanding our capabilities to better serve our customers and meet their evolving needs remain a focal point for TOC.
Mike brings an exceptional background to TOC. Mike began his career as an officer in the United States Air Force, serving as a Combat Rescue Navigator and instructor. Following his service, he transitioned to the private sector as a Business Process Consultant, where he focused on improving customer efficiencies. Mike has accumulated extensive experience in e-commerce platforms, warehouse management systems, and merchandising systems. For over a decade, Mike served as the Director of Operational Technology at Asplundh Tree Experts, where he oversaw all technologies directly impacting operations.
Mike holds an Aerospace Engineering degree from Auburn University and a Master’s in Management of Technology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He currently resides in Opelika, Alabama, with his wife, Laura. Outside of work, Mike is an avid pilot and enjoys flying his antique airplane.
