The Orion Companies (TOC) would like to welcome Hugo Mertens to the team. In his new role with TOC Hugo will be an Account Manager in the Pacific Northwest. The addition of Hugo will further the progressive development of the Western region and allow TOC increased ability to serve valued northwest customers.
With 28 years of experience as an applicator, Hugo is a seasoned professional in his field. Fifteen years ago, Hugo left the irrigation district and started his own commercial spray business, catering to agriculture, residential, commercial, and private customers. He has a deep understanding of the agricultural world and is focused on identifying the best programs and solutions for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and success. Hugo also has extensive experience in chemical sales and bids to government agencies and local and state government agencies such as US Forestry, BLM, State DOTs, and County Weed Districts. Hugo values building long-term relationships with customers, understanding their unique needs, and developing customized solutions that fit their business goals.
Hugo proudly served our country in the United States Army before beginning his career. Hugo and his wife Betsy have three children, and they raise beef cattle and pigs that their children show at local fairs through FFA. Hugo enjoys being outdoors and taking part in hunting, fishing, and snow activities and resides with his family in Washington.
